The Healthy Active Living Department at Mississauga Secondary School is focused on engaging our students in a variety of activities and health topics. Our goal is to empower youth to make healthy lifestyle decisions that will help them lead a productive and fulfilling life.

Through the involvement in the H.A.L.E. curriculum, our students will develop knowledge and skills that will lead to valuing and actualizing personal fitness and wellness. In this process, students will construct a more positive self-concept and body image that will help them be active in the community and to make significant contributions to society.

Finally, we believe that being active and making critical decisions about lifestyle is important but in today's competitive world, performance is also vital. Through regular fitness testing and skill assessment, our students are evaluated and challenged to improve their level of personal fitness.

Overall, the emphasis on regular physical participation, fitness assessment and healthy decision- making comprise our goals as H.A.L.E teachers and we strive to accent these daily with our students.
